We reached our goal ahead of schedule:
Over 110 New Participants enrolled in PSE’s Green Power Program by July, assuring Vashon of a $10,000 PSE grant toward a Community Solar Project!

PSE’s Green Power Program Director, Heather Mulligan, was so impressed that she’s upped the ante.

Here’s our new challenge:
Sign up an additional 60 Vashonites by the end of the year and PSE will toss in an additional $5,000!!
The magic number of new subscribers for 2010 is 200, which will bring the number of island participants overall to 750.

Islanders meet PSE’s Green Power challenge in record time

When Puget Sound Energy challenged Vashon residents earlier this year to sign up for its Green Power Program, in which customers tack a few extra dollars onto their bill each month to support development of renewable energy resources, they quickly responded.

Promised a $10,000 grant for a community solar project if there were 110 new enrollments by the end of the year, the Island proved its support for renewable energy when it met the challenge in about three months. Now, PSE is upping the ante with a new challenge and another $5,000 in grant money hanging in the balance.

An Invitation to End Homelessness on Vashon

Join our campaign to support the Vashon Interfaith Council on Homelessness (IFCH), an island non-profit working on a shoestring budget to meet the essential needs of islanders barely getting by.
